We are well established in the local area and we are proud to boast a 100% pass rate at Cambridge First Certificate and Advanced. We are currently looking for TEFL teachers with EU citizenship to work in our school.   There are many advantages for teachers who are new to Barcelona in working at Chisholm school. Firstly, when people first arrive in Barcelona they sometimes have trouble getting used to a new way of life because everything can seem very different from at home. We try our best to help teachers with their legal requirements. These include: Social Security number, to sign up with a local doctor, Tax number, to be able to get paid, Identification number, to become a resident, etc. The Spanish bureaucracy system can seem daunting in the beginning and we accompany teachers to the offices and support them as much as possible, so as they are in the correct legal position right from the start.   Similarly, we can help with looking for accommodation. Flat prices have recently soared in Spain and the demand in Barcelona for shared accommodation or low-priced flats is high. We know of web sites, notice boards, newspapers and even agencies where newcomers can begin the flat search.   We provide teachers with a 9 month working contract from October to June. We are only looking for teachers who will definitely fulfil the requirements of this contract and not leave before the contract ends. We offer minimum 22 hours a week. The timetable is as often as possible in block hours. Classes will include children from 10 years old, adults and business classes.   We use 75% Callan Method and 25% TEFL in classes, so new teachers are able to practice what they have learnt in their TEFL qualification and also to learn another skill. We have a system in the school of continual in-house training, observation and feedback. We understand that it is extremely important that new teachers have continual support and help.   Living in Barcelona is a good opportunity to study Spanish and Catalan. As with accommodation we have many contacts in Spanish schools and academies and can find new teachers economical and good quality Spanish courses.   Our school is located near the centre of the city. It is very easy to get to using bus,43-44 or 33, or by underground, Purple line, Bac de Roda or Red line Clot station.   Last but not least, Barcelona is very attractive for its culture and nightlife. There are many festivals including the Grec theatre festival, La Mercé , Barcelona ’s main city festival and Sonar electronic music festival, and also St. Jordi. Also, art museums and architecture are of special interest.
